HUNTERDON NURSE ALMOST STABBED BY PBURG MAN AT MED CENTER

@ approximately 6:27 AM – Police arrested Kevin P. Flanagan, age 49 of Phillipsburg, NJ and charged him with two counts of assault on medical personnel following an incident in the emergency room at Hunterdon Medical Center. Police were called to the ER for a report of an out of control patient. Upon arrival, police found that Flanagan was under control but was agitated and confrontational. During the investigation, police learned that Flanagan attempted to stab a nurse who was treating him with pen and kicked another staff member, who attempted to intervene, in the stomach. After processing at police headquarters, Flanagan was turned over the Hunterdon County Sheriff’s Department to be transferred to the Somerset County Jail to await his first appearance.
