Volunteers Needed for American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Hunterdon County – 2018
Hunterdon County, NJ – The American Cancer Society, the nation’s leading voluntary health organization, is looking for a few good volunteers for its national signature activity, Relay For Life. Walkers and runners, cancer survivors, community leaders, team captains -come one, come all, to the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Hunterdon County.
The first leadership team committee meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 6:30pm in Café 173 at the Hunterdon Central Regional High School. Our future upcoming meetings are scheduled for the same time and location on October 19, 2017 and December 6, 2017.
Volunteers are needed to organize and recruit teams, seek community support and underwriting, coordinate logistics, find refreshments and prizes, plan entertainment and many other activities.
Relay For Life is as much an awareness raiser about the progress against cancer as it is a fund-raiser,” said Judy Tutela, local volunteer. “Individuals who are willing to give their time and energy to this exciting event, as a volunteer or participant, have a made a commitment to fight back against this disease.”
Relay For Life of Hunterdon County is an event that brings together teams from local businesses, schools, churches and families for fun, food, music, entertainment and a night under the stars, while team members take turns walking on a track.
Relay For Life begins with a Cancer Survivors Lap and a reception to celebrate life. At dusk, Relay For Life remembers all of those touched by cancer in a moving, candlelit ceremony. The funds raised from this event will go toward the American Cancer Society’s research, education, advocacy and patient services.
