Hunterdon County Sheriff’s Detectives Frank Modaffare and Lamont Garnes traveled to the Pennsylvania State Correctional Institution in Collegeville, PA for the purpose of arresting, taking into custody and extraditing  a Riegelsville, PA man.  Working in conjunction with the Pennsylvania State Parole Board, Ben Shaffer was arrested on a Hunterdon County Warrant for Violation of Probation and placed in Graterford Prison to await extradition to New Jersey.  Based on an original conviction of third degree possession of drugs,  Shaffer failed to comply with the terms of his probation by not reporting, not paying fines and fees, nor doing mandated community service.  The 38 year old Shaffer was lodged in the Somerset County Jail by the Detectives to await a hearing in Superior Court.
