On June 29, former Governor Christine Todd Whitman visited the Voorhees Stars 12U Girls Softball team. Governor Whitman spoke to the 5th and 6th graders before their game on the Stars’ home field, Tewksbury’s Old Turnpike School. The Governor graciously spoke to the girls about female leadership, and engaged in a question and answer session about her experiences in public life. The Voorhees Stars are a Tewksbury-based, non-profit softball program that offers summer and fall competition to 9-17 year old girls in Hunterdon, Warren and Morris Counties. Home games are played at Old Turnpike School and Voorhees High School in Glen Gardner.
