Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III, Chief of Detectives John J. Kuczynski, and Flemington Police Chief George A. Becker, announced that a joint investigation by the Hunterdon County Prosecutors’ Office Gangs, Guns, & Narcotics Task Force, the Flemington Police Department, and the State of New Jersey Department of Law & Public Safety Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control led, to the arrest of two individuals for the illegal delivery and sale of alcoholic beverages.      According to Prosecutor Kearns, “the joint investigation resulted in the separate arrests of Jose A. Lopez, age 63, of Flemington, and Miguel Espinoza‐Garcia, age 44, of Flemington, on February 19th, 2016.

The defendants were charged with the transportation and sale of alcoholic beverages, a fourth degree crime.  On separate occasions Lopez and Garcia delivered and sold alcohol to individuals while operating an illegal taxi service.  The Honorable Eric Perkins set Bail on Lopez and Garcia at $1000.00, which they both posted with a pending court date.  Lopez and Garcia were also charged with Flemington Borough Ordinance violations for operating illegal taxi services.”      Prosecutor Kearns added, “Investigators were able to identify thirteen illegal taxis operating in the Flemington area.   Resulting in the impoundment of seven vehicles, and the issuance of 14 traffic summonses and 43 Flemington Borough Ordinance violations.”         This investigation is ongoing.
