IN FLEMINGTON Small Works Art Show Seeks NJ Artists

Dear Hunterdon County News Online Editor,

“Artists of all media, ages and ability — here’s a chance to sell your work and support an important cause,” says Chris Englehart, co-organizer of the “Small Works Art Show” to benefit Friends of Historic Flemington.

The show will be on Saturday, Sept. 24, from 2 to 8 p.m., and Sunday, Sept. 25 from 1 to 6 p.m., at 123 Main Street, Flemington. The public is welcome at an artists’ reception on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m., with live music and refreshments.

“Each artwork will sell for $100, with half going to the artist and the other half toFriends of Historic Flemington,” says Ms. Englehart.

The Friends organization welcomes donations, whether or not people buy artwork. See contact information below.

Artwork should be no larger than 11×14 inches, no smaller than 8×10. Any medium is welcome — oil, acrylic, watercolor, pencil, pastel, photography, fabric, collage, etc. Artists must supply tabletop easels to display their works.

Artists may drop off their work on Friday, Sept. 23 between 4 and 7 p.m. or Saturday, Sept. 24 between 10 a.m. and 12 noon.

Friends of Historic Flemingto supports adaptive reuse of the borough’s historic buildings. Its members believe the demolition of the Union Hotel and three adjacent buildings in the heart of the county seat’s historic district is misguided and unnecessary.
