Injured Dog Assisted By Passing Motorists

On Tuesday, January 10, at approximately 11:25 am, an officer was dispatched to Lilac Drive near Red Schoolhouse Road for a report of an injured dog lying in the roadway. Upon arrival, the officer learned that the ten (10) to twelve (12) year-old golden retriever was found in a puddle by a passing motorist. The motorist and several other local residents removed the dog from the water and wrapped it in a blanket. It was unclear how the dog was injured. The Animal Control Officer responded and took custody of the dog so that it could obtain medical treatment. The dog had no tags or other identifiers and the police department has received no reports of a missing dog. beaverbrook_navy
