J. Dolores Hagan, age 84, of Lebanon,

J. Dolores Hagan, age 84, of Lebanon, NJ passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at Country Meadows Nursing Home in Bethlehem, PA. She was the wife of Robert F. Hagan Sr., celebrating nearly 60 years of marriage.

Dolores, daughter of the late Reuben Suydam and Ruth Wilson Curtis, was born on October 8, 1931 in Flemington, NJ and was a lifelong resident of Hunterdon County.

She was a graduate of Flemington High School, where she played on the girls’ basketball team.  After high school, Dolores worked first as telephone operator and then as a bookkeeper for Hunterdon County National Bank in Flemington, NJ before leaving work to raise her family. After her children were in school, she held several jobs in local food service establishments including Stewart’s Root Beer Stand and The Baptist Camp.

Dolores was an active member of the Lebanon Reformed Church where she sang in their choir and worked as a Church Sexton. She also volunteered for many church events and for Meals on Wheels.

Her favorite pastimes were reading mysteries, doing crossword puzzles, and watching sports, such as tennis, baseball, and women’s basketball. She loved food and photography and enjoyed traveling with her family and taking pictures. Her favorite place to visit was New England, and she enjoyed annual trips to Vermont to see the fall foliage.

In addition to her husband, Dolores is survived by her son Robert ‘Rob’ Francis Hagan Jr. and his partner Karen Storgion of Nazareth, PA; her daughter Susan Ruth Hagan Parilis and her husband Gary of Clinton Twp., NJ; her grandchildren, John Hagan, Matthew Hagan, Benjamin Parilis and Rachel Parilis; her daughter-in-law Debra Klim of Nazareth, PA; and her brother, George Curtis of Lambertville, NJ.

Graveside service will be Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 11am at Union Cemetery in Lebanon, NJ.  The family will sit Shiva at the home of Gary and Susan Parilis, 4 Bristol Court, Annandale, NJ 08801, on Saturday June 25 and Sunday June 26 from 12-7pm.
