James L. Edmonds, age 74, of Lebanon Twp., NJ passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Kindred Hospital New Jersey – Morris County.
He was born on November 17, 1942 in Somerville, NJ. He spent his childhood in South Bound Brook, NJ. He was a resident of Lebanon Twp., NJ since 1997, moving from High Bridge, NJ.
He was the son of the late Walter M. and Margaret L. Edmonds.
He was the husband of Carol L. Brong Edmonds, celebrating 42 years of marriage.
Jim worked for many years as a truck driver for Fox Lumber in Clinton, NJ. After leaving Fox Lumber, he worked for the Hunterdon Developmental Center as a truck driver until his retirement in 2006.
Jim was one of the original members of the ‘Down and Outers Club’ in High Bridge and was also a past member of the High Bridge Fire Department.
Jim loved all kinds of music. For 19 years, he enjoyed attending the Pocono Blues Festival with his family. Jim made a friend wherever he went. Everywhere he traveled to, he always knew someone there.
Survivors in addition to his loving wife include 5 children; James Edmonds and his wife Terry of Easton, PA, Debra Kearns of Tallahassee, FL. Alicia Edmonds and her wife Kelly of Jacksonville, FL, Denise Tuddles of Jacksonville, FL and Jamie Edmonds of Lebanon Twp., NJ. And 1 predeceased son Jeremy Ryan Edmonds. 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A brother; Walter Edmonds of New Providence, NJ and a sister; Peggy Schaeffer and her husband Charles of Whitehouse Station, NJ. Many cousins, nieces and nephews. Jim is also survived by his beloved dogs; Eddie and Dixie.
Calling hours will be Sunday, July 2, 2017 from 1pm to 4pm with funeral service at 4pm. All at Naughright-Scarponi Funeral Home, 66 Main Street, High Bridge, NJ. Interment will be private.
