Jean Gould, age 93, of Raritan Twp., NJ passed away on Monday, June 6, 2016 at Rolling Hills Care Center in Lebanon, NJ.
She was born on August 25, 1922 in Rahway, NJ. She spent her childhood in Rahway and after moving to Cranford, NJ, Wayne, PA and Madison, CT, in 1967 she moved to Hunterdon County.
She was the daughter of the late Fay Vincent and Doris Martin Howard Rossell.
Her husband, Ronald Gould, passed away in 2007 after celebrating 63 years of marriage.
Jean graduated Rahway High School as Salutatorian of Class of 1939. She then went on to graduate from NJ State Teachers College (now Kean University) in 1943 where she received a full scholarship. She taught 2nd grade for 2 years in the Roselle, NJ schools. In 1967 Jean went back to school to Trenton State College (now College of New Jersey) to be certified as a School Librarian. She was a School Librarian in the Clinton Township Schools until her retirement.
Memberships include Cokesbury United Methodist Church in Cokesbury, NJ and the Retired Teachers Group of Clinton Twp., NJ.
Survivors include one daughter; Pamela Neece of Hopewell, NJ and one daughter-in-law; Joyce Gould of Doylestown, PA.
Predeceased in addition to her husband by one son; David Gould who passed away in 2015, one son-in-law; Donald Neece who passed away in 2013 and one brother; William Rossell.
Memorial service will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 11am at Cokesbury United Methodist Church, 230 Cokesbury Road, Cokesbury, NJ. Interment will be private.
