Jean Kubas, age 93, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Brightview Senior Living in Bel Air, MD.
She was born on June 7, 1923 in Forest City, PA and was one of eight children. She moved to New Jersey in 1942 where she met her husband, Edward, who was in the U.S. Navy during World War II. She lived the majority of her life in Edison, NJ and later Toms River, NJ.
Jean was the daughter of the late Karl and Stella Zwicharowski.
Her husband, Edward Kubas Sr., passed away in 1998 after 52 years of marriage.
Jean retired from Regina Vacuum Company in Rahway, NJ as a Quality Control Inspector.
Jean enjoyed family gatherings and celebrations. She also enjoyed watching her sons play football at Rutgers and Penn State University and watching the Yankees regardless of what place they were in or the score.
Survivors include sons; Edward Kubas Jr. and his wife Deborah of New Port Richie, FL, Greg Kubas and his wife Priscilla of Phoenix, AZ and Michael Kubas and his wife Diane of Annandale, NJ. grandchildren; Michelle Kubas, William Kubas, Kim Economon and her husband Paul and Daniel Kubas and his wife Linda. Great-grandchildren; Sophia, Paul Jr., Harry, Louis, Jake and Katie. Jean is also survived by her sister; Josie Baron and her husband Dick of Elmira, NY.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, February 8, 2017 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm with Catholic Prayers at 2pm at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ. Inurnment will be Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 10:30am at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery, 53 Inman Avenue, Colonia, NJ.
