Flemington Boro, NJ- Jean (Palmer) Lichtneger, 90, entered eternal life on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, NJ with loving family by her side. Born in Little Falls NY, daughter of Godfrey and Fannie (Bellinger) Palmer, she was raised in Dolgeville, NY and lived in Closter, NJ for 67 years before settling to Flemington in 2013.
Jean earned her Associate Degree and worked as an accountant for many years for Haworth Public Schools. She was currently a member of the Community Church of Harrington Park and formerly an active member of the Closter Reformed Church. Jean volunteered much of her time to the Ladies Auxiliary of Closter, the Community Church of Harrington Park, NJ, Pascack Valley Hospital for 25 years and the Closter Library for 20 years. She was an avid golfer, loved playing bridge and enjoyed playing the piano and organ. Jean was very social, always taking care of family and friends alike. She was lovingly called the “cookie lady”.
Besides her parents, Jean was predeceased by her beloved husband William “Bill” Lichtneger in 1992.
Jean is survived by her loving children; Ronald Lichtneger and his wife Evelyn of Cedar Falls, IA, Donna Passarotti and her husband Henry of Flemington, and David Lichtneger and his wife Brenda of Chesapeake, VA. She will be deeply missed by her six cherished grandchildren; Kim, Laurie, Bill, Tim, Diane and Rebecca, seven great grandchildren; Brittany, Mason, Dusty, Alicia, Jessica, Harley and Emery, as well as her three great-great grandchildren; McKenzie, Madilynne and Ailyanna.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend memorial service at Three Bridges Reformed Church, Three Bridges, NJ on Saturday, June 27th at 11:00 a.m. Final disposition will be private.
