Joanne Vivian Heckman
DURHAM TOWNSHIP, PA – Joanne Vivian Heckman, 57, of Riegelsville, Durham Township, PA, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at her home with beloved husband and daughters by her side.
Born November 10, 1957 in Brunswick, GA, Joanne lived in California and Easton, PA before moving to Riegelsville, PA 40 years ago. Joanne worked at the Hunterdon Developmental Center in Clinton, NJ. Prior to that, she worked at A&H Sportswear in Easton, PA for 23 years. Joanne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be dearly missed by those that knew her.
Joanne was a member of the Riegelsville American Legion Post 950 Ladies Auxiliary and served as the legion’s historian.
Joanne is survived by her beloved husband Randy R. Heckman, with whom she would have celebrated 40 years of marriage this April 26, her two daughters Angie Heckman and her husband Jesse Held of Macungie, PA and Randi Snyder and her husband Brett of Upper Black Eddy, PA, her mother Joan (Detwiler) Jacoby of Easton, PA, her sisters Linda Olson and her husband Jim of Maryland, Karen Pursell of North Carolina, her mother-in-law Betty Heckman, her step-brothers Kirk, Rodney, and Keith Jacoby, and her six grandchildren Bryce, Dylan, Kaylee, Kaycee, Cael, and Harper. She was predeceased by her father Joseph Reuben, her sister Barbara Frankenfield, her step-father Luther “Jake” Jacoby, and her father-in-law Melvin Heckman.
A Celebration of Joanne’s Life will take place on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 11 AM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ. Visitation will also be held on Saturday from 9-11 AM, prior to the service at the funeral home.
