John S. Ferraiolo
HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, NJ – John S. Ferraiolo, 93, of Holland Township, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at his home.
Born March 1, 1922 in Belleville, NJ, John lived in Westfield, NJ before moving to Holland Township in 1982. He served in the US Navy World War II and was a veteran of World War II. John was a survivor of Pearl Harbor, where he earned a purple heart. John worked for Distiller Company, Limited in Linden, NJ for 28 years before retiring. He enjoyed fishing, golf, gardening, and working around the house. John was a member of St. Edward the Confessor R.C. Church in Milford, NJ, the Knights of Columbus, Military Order of the Purple Hearts, and the American Legion. He was known for his generosity and love of family.
Son of the late Paul and Maria (Bottone) Ferraiolo, John is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Teresa I. (Pelosi) Ferraiolo, his son Paul Ferraiolo of Boxborough, MA, his three daughters Maria Long of Hatfield, PA, Diane Ferraiolo of Skillman, NJ, and Adele Klingshirn of Peachtree City, GA, his sister Anna LaStella of Colorado, and his three grandchildren Sarah Long, Greg Klingshirn, and Mia Ferraiolo. He was predeceased by his three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 29, 2015 at 10:30 AM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St. Edward the Confessor RC Church, Milford, NJ. Visitation will be held on Sunday evening from 4-6 PM at the funeral home.
