John Thomas Vybihal, age 62, of Jupiter, FL passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, NJ. John resided in Florida for the past 15 years but grew up in Hunterdon and Warren County, NJ. He was a 1972 graduate of Warren Hills Regional HS in Washington, NJ.
He was born on October 6, 1953 in Flemington, NJ and was the son of John F. Vybihal of Clinton, NJ and the late Florence E. McCatharn-Vybihal who passed away in 2014.
John served with the US Army from 1972 to 1976 and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He was a seasoned Insurance Professional with WS Vogel in Livingston, NJ.
He is survived by in addition his Father, a brother; Martin Vybihal and his wife Kathleen, their children Morgan, Charlotte and Daniel of West Caldwell, NJ and a sister; Lorraine C. Vybihal, and her daughter Breanne C. Vybihal of Union Twp., NJ
Predeceased in addition to his mother by his sister; Christina Ann Vybihal, who passed away in 1975.
John was an avid golfer. He enjoyed music, traveling, going on cruises and reading while sitting on the beach. He was a standout bowler, and even represented the US Army team, winning the men’s individual championship in 1972. John was also a wonderful Uncle who loved hanging out with his nieces and nephew. He was a great friend to many, always putting others first. He will be missed dearly.
Calling hours will be Thursday, June 16, 2016 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm with Memorial Service at 7:00pm at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ. Interment will be private.
