John W. “Butch” Patrey, Jr.
HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, NJ – John W. “Butch” Patrey, Jr, 73, of Milford, NJ, passed away suddenly on Thursday, August, 4, 2016 at St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville, NJ.
Born February 16, 1943, Butch grew up in Chester, NJ and lived in Milford, NJ for the past 40 years. He was a longtime employee of Napa Auto Sales and W.E. Timmerman in Whitehouse, NJ. Butch was a proud veteran serving in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was a dedicated member of the VFW in Milford, NJ. He was an avid lover of baseball (Go Yankees), bowling, NASCAR, and coached for the Delaware Valley Athletic Association for more than 20 years. As a man that touched many people throughout his life, Butch continued to help others after his passing with his donation to Eversight.
Son of the late John W. Patrey, Sr. and Mary (Koches) Patrey, Butch is survived by his four children, Steve of Hawaii, Trish, Robert, and Adam, all of New Jersey, his four grandchildren, Tyler, Jayson, Morgan Nicholas of Riegelsville, PA, and Destiny Patrey of Stewartsville, NJ. He is also survived my many nieces and nephews. Butch was predeceased by his beloved wife Cheryl (nee Johnson) in 2003.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 15, 2016 at 10 AM at the Milford Presbyterian Church, 70 Bridge Street, Milford, NJ with Pastor Linda Bullock officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4 to 8 PM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ.
