Joseph “Joe” F. Dugan, Jr., 72,

lemington, NJ—Joseph “Joe” F. Dugan, Jr., 72, entered into eternal life on Sunday, July 26, 2015. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, son of the late Joseph F. and Mary (McDevitt) Dugan, Sr., he resided in Roselle, NJ before settling in Flemington twenty-one years ago. 

Joe faithfully served his country as an Ammunition Technician with the United States Marine Corps from 1960 to 1964. He began his career as a police officer in 1967 with the Roselle Police Department where he dedicated over twenty-five years of his life, rising to the rank of Detective Lieutenant. Joe received numerous awards and citations throughout his career, reflecting his devoted life’s service. After retiring, Joe worked with the Department of Banking and Insurance, Fraud Division, where he rose to the rank of Senior Investigator and later was assigned as Acting Civil Squad Supervisor for the Medical Squad in Whippany. 

Besides his parents, Joe was predeceased by a brother, John Dugan. 

Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Naomie (Millelot) Dugan; loving sons, Sean Dugan and his wife Michele and Mark Wance and his wife Lisa. He will be deeply missed by his dear brother, Michael Dugan and five cherished grandchildren. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Friday, July 31, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Friday at 3:15 p.m. along with military honors rendered at 7:30 p.m., disposition will be private.
