Joyce (Barlow) Brady
Joyce (Barlow) Brady, 86 of the Oldwick section of Tewksbury Township, NJ died on Friday April, 29, 2016 at home.
She was born in Westfield, NJ on January 18, 1930 the daughter of the late George and Grace Deets and grew up in Westfield and was a long time resident of Tewksbury Township.
Joyce was employed at Merril Lynch in N.Y.C. as a private secretary for an executive officer who was a partner in the firm.
Joyce began an interest in the restaurant business in the late 1970’s and went on to purchase the Tewksbury Inn in 1982 and remained as owner for the next twenty five years. By 1990 it became a four-star restaurant with an award winning wine list. In addition to the Tewksbury Inn her passion and discriminating taste for antiques led her to purchase the Pink Sleigh turning it into an antique shop and tea room named Collections.
Joyce is survived by her husband John R. (Rick) Brady, her four children Jody Boehm and her husband Roger of Glen Gardner, NJ, Karen Barlow of Califon, NJ, Jonathan Brady and his wife Lois of NH, Mary Alice Casale and her husband Chris of Whitehouse Station, NJ, a granddaughter Jennifer Brady of NH and a brother George Deets of Cranford, NJ.
Calling hours will be Friday from 5:00PM until 8:00PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday May 7, 2016 at 1:00PM in the Coughlin Funeral Home 15 Academy Street, Califon NJ 07830. Burial will be Private.
