JUNKIES WITH A 17 MONTH OLD IN THE CAR

On Tuesday, February 28, at approximately 12:20 pm, an officer checked on a 2007 Mercury Milan operated by Amanda Galvez, age 27, of Williamsburg, after observing it stopped on the shoulder of Route 31 near Route 513. During the encounter, the officer observed the occupants to be nervous and also observed indications of drug use. A subsequent investigation produced an opened and partially consumed 40 ounce bottle of beer, seven (7) bags of suspected heroin, and two (2) hypodermic syringes.
Both Ms. Galvez and Timothy Huttenmeyer, age 29, of Oxford were arrested. A seventeen (17) month-old child in the vehicle was turned over to a family member at the scene of the stop. Ms. Galvez and Mr. Huttenmeyer were each charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe, and Possession of an Opened Alcoholic Beverage In A Motor Vehicle. Ms. Galvez was additionally charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle While In Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Tinted Windows, Obstructing Traffic, and Failure to Produce Documents. Both were released ROR. The New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency was notified.
