Kehilat HaNahar Synagogue, also known as “The Little Shul by the River” in New Hope, Pennsylvania, announces the appointment of Janine Jankovitz Pastor as its student rabbi for the 2017-18 academic year.  Kehilat HaNahar (KHN) is a Reconstructionist synagogue with a diverse congregation that offers a welcoming home to Jews who come from a variety of traditions and practices.

Jankovitz Pastor is currently a fifth-year student at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College.  She was born and raised in Montgomery County and graduated from Temple University with a BA in Jewish Studies and English/Creative Writing.  She now lives in Lansdale, PA with her husband Steven and their seven-pound Chihuahua Fitzgerald. She’s a proud fan of the Owls, the Eagles, and the Saints.

“I look forward to a fulfilling and enriching year working and learning with KHN congregants and Rabbi Diana,” said Jankovitz Pastor.  Rabbi Diana Miller agreed, saying “We are delighted that Janine is bringing her intelligence, creativity, and warm humor to our Little Shul this year.”
