Kehilet HaNahar synagogue hosts an annual Mitzvah Day

On Sunday, January 14, Kehilat HaNahar Synagogue (KHN), also known as “The Little Shul by the River,” commemorated Martin Luther King Day of Service by hosting an annual Mitzvah Day.  “Mitzvah” is a Hebrew word meaning “good deed”.

Adults and children gathered at KHN for activities benefiting a variety of local causes, including Woman’s Space, Trenton, the Centenary United Methodist church community luncheon in Lambertville, and Bucks County Project Linus.

The morning began with a short film about two Syrian refugee families being supported by the Bucks County Interfaith Coalition for Refugee Resettlement, with proceeds from a bake sale and reusable tote bag sale going to those families.
