On Sunday, May 17, at approximately 8:15 pm, Patrolman Drew MacQueen stopped a 1999 Toyota Corolla operated by John Vecchio, age 57, of Bridgewater Township, on Route 626 near Route 633 for failing to maintain lane. During the stop, Ptl. MacQueen detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on Mr. Vecchio’s breath and soon determined that he was intoxicated. Mr. Vecchio was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he provided samples of his breath for chemical testing to determine the content of alcohol in his blood. Ptl. MacQueen issued Mr. Vecchio motor vehicle summonses for Driving While Intoxicated and Failure to Maintain Lane. He was released to the custody of a responsible adult and his vehicle was towed and impounded.
