LeRoy M. Sutton
LeRoy M. Sutton, 95 years, of Changewater, NJ, passed away Friday, March 18, 2016, at Country Arch Care Center, Pittstown, NJ.
Born January 27, 1921, in Tewksbury Township, NJ, he was the husband of the late Pauline Hedwig Hintz Sutton.
He was the son of the late Austin and LaVanche Kagan Sutton.
LeRoy attended a one room school house in Tewksbury Township.
A long time farmer in Tewksbury Township, NJ, he also started and managed a farm stand in Fairmount, NJ, for many years.
He loved Lancaster, Pa, and had made many Amish friends throughout the years, buying their produce, jams and canned goods to sell at the 5 Acres Flea Market, where he sold for many years, after he retired. He had a love of dancing and was known as “The Dancing Devil.” and Country music was his music of choice. He enjoyed stock car racing at Flemington Speedway and NASCAR.
He could be found most lunch times at his beloved Belvidere Diner where he had many friends. He enjoyed feeding the birds in his yard and tending his many beautiful flowers.
LeRoy is survived by a brother, Norman Sutton and his wife Barbara, of Readington Township. He is also survived by daughter, Linda Devlin and husband, Tom of Changewater, NJ, Karla Levesque and husband, Dennis, of Weare, NH, Paula Carolus and husband, Scott, of Port Colden, NJ. Grandchildren, Corey McQuaid and husband Stephen, Marcie Liepins and husband Imants, Kristin Love, James Love, Scott Carolus, Rebecca Landrigan and husband John, and also 7 great grandchildren, Livija, Kalvis, Ansis Liepins, Claire and Keira McQuaid, Kayden and Adriene Landrigan.
A brother, Donald, died earlier.
Funeral services will be held, Thursday, March 24 – 11am in the Coughlin Funeral Home, 15 Academy Street Califon, NJ. Burial will be immediately following at Fairmount Rural t Cemetery, Fairmount, NJ.Calling hour
