Earth Day Press Conference in Linden Opposing Outrageous Exxon Settlement Deal with NJDEP & Other Environmental Threats

 

WHAT:          Press Conference where elected officials, local residents, and environmental groups will come together on Earth Day to oppose the NJDEP’s proposed Exxon Settlement, the Pilgrim Pipeline project, and other threats to New Jersey’s environment   

 

                        This Earth Day local leaders are coming together in Linden to highlight the numerous environmental issues that continue to threaten the city, but also the entire state.  Speakers will focus on the settlement agreement NJDEP has proposed to enter into with Exxon, impacting the Bayway Refinery, an additional 17 industrial sites, and over 800 gas stations across the state.  The Pilgrim Pipeline and new natural gas infrastructure would bring more dangerous Bakken crude oil through northern New Jersey and into the city.  Activists will also discuss what concerned citizens can do now to fight these threats and protect our state’s environment today and for future generations.
