Assemblyman Anthony M. Bucco’s bill bringing new perspective to the state fire safety commission was approved today by the Assembly and now moves to Gov. Christie’s desk for consideration. The bill (S3458/A5076) adds four public members to the 23-person commission. It passed the Senate in December.
“The input of additional representatives will bring fresh ideas and priorities to the table,” said Bucco (R-Morris). “The commission can benefit from some original perspectives. The new voices will be welcome additions to the organizations that are already well-represented on the commission.”
Two new members will be appointed by the governor, and two will be joint appointments of the Senate president and speaker of the Assembly.
