LETTER – Michael Dendis and I am honored to be running as the East Amwell Township representative on the Hunterdon Central Regional High School Board of Education.

To East Amwell Voters,
My name is Michael Dendis and I am honored to be running as the East Amwell
Township representative on the Hunterdon Central Regional High School Board
of Education. Currently I am serving on the board as an appointed member. I
was selected over my opponent, by the board to fill a vacate position.
When I was asked to fill the position, I joined the board with no personal agenda
to purse and will continue to serve with the attitude of representing East Amwell
with common sense leadership. I have a great working relationship with the
board and new Superintendent Dr. Jeffrey Moore. It is my opinion that the
district is in good hands under his leadership and I have personally seen an
improvement in attitude and tone within the students and staff.
I have been a homeowner in the sending district for 20 years and a resident of
East Amwell since 2006. As a tax payer and parent I fully understand how
important it is to keep our schools great.
Professionally , I am employed by Raritan Township as a police officer where I
have served for 22 years. I have also owned and operated successful small
businesses in the community. My experience as a police officer has given me
the unique advantage of having a working relationship with our high school and
understand it’s challenges. There are many challenges that all districts face
today but, one of more important ones is the safety of our children when they
are under the care and trust of our schools. I believe that I have the background
and working knowledge to continue to ensure that our children are safe at
school.
I am a parent of two children and a husband. I like most of you, know that the
most important and hardest job we have is being a parent. I am a dad,
husband, police officer, business owner, citizen and school board member in
that order. Of all the things that we are, the greatest title we have is “dad” or
“mom”.
I am not running for this position for political purposes and became concerned
when I read things my opponent is saying. Things like “cleaning up” and
“bringing needed change” to HCRHS. I afraid that with words like that he is
running a political campaign and looking to use this opportunity as a political
stepping stone. I am also afraid that my opponent is mis informed on what is
actually going on at HCRHS or mis understanding the role of a board member.
The board has already replaced the superintendent and a coarse correction was
made.
I have earned the trust of the board and community and I ask you for your vote
and continued support.
Should you have any questions of me please email me at
michaeldendis@yahoo.com or come see me at the open candidates meet and
greet on 11/02/17 at 1730 hours in the ICM at HCRHS.
Respectfully,
Michael Dendis
