LOADED GUN WITH HOLLOW POINTS UNDER DRIVER SEAT cl twp

On the above date and time, Clinton Township Police stopped a vehicle on Route 22 West near Cokesbury Road for an equipment violation, specifically a malfunctioning brake light. Upon making contact with the driver, police observed an open container of alcohol in plain view inside the stopped vehicle and also smelled the odor of raw marijuana emanating from within the stopped vehicle.
After conducting a roadside investigation, police found a loaded small caliber handgun under the driver’s seat of the stopped vehicle. The handgun was loaded with hollow point bullets, which are illegal to possess in New Jersey. Police also found under 50 grams of marijuana inside the vehicle, along with drug paraphernalia. Police arrested the following persons:
Troy Ashby, 25, of Glen Cove, NY 11542
Qariem Arrindell, 19, of Tobyhanna, PA 18466
Kirstie Sweeney, 26, of Cresco, PA 18326
Mr. Arrindell was charged with Unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of hollow point bullets and possession of under 50 grams of marijuana.
Mr. Ashby was charged with Unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of hollow point bullets and possession of under 50 grams of marijuana.
Ms. Sweeney was charged with Possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to wear a seatbelt.
Mr. Ashby and Mr. Arrindell were lodged in the Hunterdon County Jail and Ms. Sweeney was released pending a court appearance in Clinton Township Municipal Court.
