Lockatong Engineering is proud to announce that two of its members have been named to the Board of Directors of the National Academy of Building Inspection Engineers (NABIE).

At the Annual NABIE Conference held last week in Orlando, FL, Robert N. Roop, P.E., Founder and President of Lockatong Engineering, was named as Secretary, and Tricia L. Romano, P.E., Senior Engineer, was named as a Board member.

Ms. Romano was also inducted into the Order of the Engineer in a ceremony on February 11, 2017.  The Order of the Engineer was initiated to foster a spirit of pride and responsibility in the engineering professional, to bridge the gap between training and experience, and to present to the public a visible symbol identifying the engineer.  Graduate and registered engineers are invited to accept the Obligation of the Engineer, a creed similar to the Hippocratic oath taken by medical graduates which sets forth an ethical code. Likewise, the Obligation contains parts of the Canon of Ethics of major engineering societies. Initiates pledge to uphold the standards and dignity of the engineering profession and to serve humanity by making the best use of Earth’s precious wealth.
