Lori Lee Opdyke (nee Steil) of Lambertville, NJ passed on to Heaven peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her family on November 28, 2016, comforted by her Husband of 34 years and her children. Her presence on this earth was a gift to all she encountered during her 58 years and will be forever treasured.
Lori was born in Algona Iowa though she was raised in New Jersey, primarily in Sergeantsville, NJ. She graduated from Hunterdon Central High School in Flemington in 1976. After marrying the love of her life Kenneth Opdyke in 1982, Lori and her husband raised their 3 children in West Amwell, New Jersey. She was a very devoted mother and huge supporter of her family. She was a gracious woman and host, always putting others and particularly her family before herself. She was proud of her Catholic faith. She was a beloved mother, aunt and friend and will be deeply missed.
Lori was predeceased by her grandmother, Mary Johnson of Lambertville; she leaves behind a wealth of family which includes her husband, Ken, her children, Lauren Opdyke, Kelly Opdyke (and Manny Machado), and Chase Opdyke of Lambertville. Also, her mother and father, Charles and Trudi Steil of Sergeantsville, her Mother and Father in law, Mary and Harry Opdyke of Lambertville, NJ. Her sisters, Lisa (and Mark) Buckley of Yardley PA, and Tracy (and David) Stefan of Hillsborough, NC, and her many loved In laws, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, December 1, 2016, at St John the Evangelist Catholic Church, (http://www.parishofsaintjohn.org/), Bridge St., Lambertville, NJ.
