Louis Anthony Russo, 84,

Louis Anthony Russo, 84, died on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Hunterdon Care Center with his loving family at his side. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, son of Joseph and Mary (August) Russo, he lived in Queens, Huntington, and Smithtown, New York before settling in Branchburg in 1977.

Louis graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from C.W. Post College. He served his country as a dedicated airman in the United States Navy. Louis was employed for many years as a Director of Contracts for GPU, a public utilities company. Louis was an avid fan of the NY Giants, NY Rangers, and NY Mets and could often be heard rooting loudly for his teams. An only child, Louis made it a priority to spend his free time playing with his five children. He especially adored spending time with his nine cherished grandchildren. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. 

He was predeceased by his parents. 

Louis is survived by his wife Dolores (Vollono) with whom he joined hands in 1957 and his five children; daughter, Lynne Hurley and husband Richard of Bridgewater, NJ, son Joseph and wife Karen of Newtown, PA, son Steven and wife Deborah of Bridgewater, daughter, Beth Russo of Bedminster, NJ, son, John and wife Patricia of Ringoes, NJ. He will be deeply missed by his adoring grandchildren. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Countryside Funeral Home, 724 Route 202 North, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Sunday, May 22 from 3-6 p.m. There will be a funeral liturgy on Monday, May 23, 2016 at 11:00a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in Three Bridges. Committal words and entombment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery & Mausoleum in Bridgewater, NJ. Contributions can be made in Louis’s name to the American Kidney Fund, contributions@kidneyfund.org.
