On Friday, June 12, at approximately 10:00 pm, Patrolman Jeffery Glennon was dispatched to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Hamden Road and Route 623. Upon arrival, Ptl. Glennon met with Kiran Girme, age 21, of Pittstown, who advised that another vehicle cut his 2009 Audi A4 off and then fled the scene. Mr. Girme’s vehicle struck the curb and then travelled onto the nearby lawn of a residence. There were no injuries. Mr. Girme’s vehicle had to be towed from the scene. While speaking with Mr. Girme, Ptl. Glennon detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and soon determined that he was intoxicated. Mr. Girme was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he provided samples of his breath for chemical testing to determine the content of alcohol in his blood. Ptl. Glennon issued Mr. Girme motor vehicle summonses for Driving While Intoxicated, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Improper Turning. He was released to the custody of a responsible adult.
