MAN FALLS ASLEEP AND TAKES OUT UTILITY POLE – amazing no other vehicles involved

On Saturday, June 4, at approximately 8:00 pm, a 2015 BMW sedan operated by Thomas Perretta, age 65, of Easton, PA was traveling Route 22 West between Main Street, Lebanon and Blossom Hill Road when Mr. Perretta fell asleep. The vehicle then traveled off of the roadway, struck a utility pole support wire, a curb, and some bushes before traveling back onto Route 22 West and coming to a stop in the center median. The airbags in the vehicle deployed and it had to be towed from the scene. Passenger Alice Perretta, age 63, of Easton, PA had to be transported to the Hunterdon Medical Center for treatment of apparent minor injuries. The investigating officer issued Mr. Perretta a motor vehicle summons for Careless Driving.
