On Thursday, May 26, at approximately 1:20 am, an officer stopped a 1997 BMW 318ES operated by Pedro Perea-Dejesus, age 37, of Harrisburg, PA on Interstate 78 West near Exit 15 because the vehicle had a brake light and taillight out. During the stop, the officer observed track marks on the left hand of passenger Christopher Medina, age 31, of Harrisburg, and soon found him to be in possession of a hypodermic syringe. A subsequent search of the vehicle produced a small amount of marijuana. Mr. Perea-Dejesus was charged with Possession of Under 50 Grams of Marijuana, Operating a Motor Vehicle While In Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Maintenance of Lamps. Mr. Medina was charged with Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe and Being Under the Influence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. Both were released ROR.
