On Saturday, May 9, at approximately 5:25 pm, Patrolman Andrew McCluskey stopped a 2000 Honda Accord operated by Shannon Carney, age 19, of Port Murray, on Route 173 because the vehicle’s third brake light was out. During the stop, Ptl. McCluskey detected the odor of marijuana and soon discovered marijuana and a pipe with marijuana residue inside of the vehicle. As a result, he charged Ms. Carney with Possession of Under 50 Grams of Marijuana, Operating a Motor Vehicle While In Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Maintenance of Lamps. In addition, passenger Christopher Cuevas, age 18, of High Bridge, was charged with Possession of Under 50 Grams of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Both were released ROR.
