On Monday, January 9, at approximately 1:10 pm, an officer stopped a 1998 Ford Escape operated by Maureen Petrick, age 53, of Flemington, on Route 31 North near Allerton Road because the vehicle did not display an inspection sticker. Upon approaching the vehicle, the officer detected the odor of marijuana and observed marijuana inside of the vehicle in plain view. The officer also learned that Ms. Petrick’s driver’s license was suspended. A search produced a Clonazepam pill and a small amount of marijuana. Ms. Petrick was charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of Under 50 Grams of Marijuana, Operating a Motor Vehicle While In Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Driving While Suspended, and Failure to Inspect. Passenger Craig Bennett, age 53, of Flemington, was charged with Possession of Under 50 Grams of Marijuana. Both were released ROR.
