Marilyn Diane Rochelle, age 88, of Lebanon Twp., NJ peacefully entered eternal rest on Friday, September 2, 2016.
Born on January 29th, 1928 in Passaic, NJ, she resided in Lebanon Twp. for the past 27 years. Prior to that, she lived in Tewksbury Twp. for 19 years. She moved to Hunterdon County from Morris Plains.
She was the daughter of the late Stanley and Geraldine (Boas) Sheaf.
She was predeceased by her former husband of 30 years, Paul M. Rochelle, in 1991.
She was a loving and devoted mother and homemaker. She dedicated her life to raising and caring for her large family. She enjoyed decorating her home with favorite furnishings and accessories. Holiday celebrations were especially favored by Marilyn, giving her the opportunity to gather her loved ones around her to enjoy good food and good times. Always full of stories of her life, she was also happy to lend an ear and able to pass along sage advice when she felt inspired to do so. She enjoyed spending time with her many grandchildren, and always greeted them with a smile and a hug, keeping a special bag of candy on hand for their visits. Each spring, her flower pots filled with blooms which she enjoyed cultivating and displaying. She also enjoyed the companionship of several different canine pets through the years.
She leaves behind her children. three sons; Phillip W. Rochelle and his wife Susan of Alexandria Twp., NJ, Daniel W. Rochelle and his wife Nancy of Clinton Twp., NJ and Christopher D. Rochelle and his wife Basia of Pattenburg, NJ. She also leaves three daughters; Wendy McCarthy and her husband Edward of Crystal River, FL, Cynthia Park of TX and Deborah Trimmer of High Bridge, NJ. and two step-children; H. Peter Rochelle and his wife Linda of Allamuchy, NJ and Penny Rochelle of Kansas City, MO. Her step son Paul “Sandy” Rochelle passed away in 2014 and his wife Carol Rochelle resides in FL. She was very proud of her 25 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She was predeceased by her three brothers; Stanley Sheaf, Robert Sheaf and Fred Sheaf. and her sister, Jane Schweer.
A funeral Mass will be Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at 10am at Church of the Holy Spirit, 3 Haytown Road, Lebanon, NJ. Interment at Mountain View Cemetery in Cokesbury, NJ.
