On Friday, May 20, at approximately 10:55 pm, an officer was dispatched to McDonalds on Center Street for a report of an intoxicated female who was attempting to drive away. The report further indicated that bystanders were attempting to keep the woman from driving. Upon arrival, the officer met with a group of people as well as the woman, Margarita Rosa, age 58, of Collingswood, inside of the restaurant. Ms. Rosa, who had the odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath, had her keys in her hand and her vehicle was soon found double-parked in the parking lot. Multiple unsealed containers of an alcoholic beverage were observed inside of Ms. Rosa’s 2012 Toyota Corolla. Ms. Rosa was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and transported to police headquarters where she refused to provide samples of her breath for chemical testing to determine the content of alcohol in her blood. As a result, the officer charged Ms. Rosa with Driving While Intoxicated, Refusal to Submit to a Breath Test, Consumption of an Alcoholic Beverage While Operating a Motor Vehicle, and Improper Parking. She was released to the custody of a responsible adult and her vehicle was towed and impounded.
