U.S. Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ) issued the following statement after the Senate Foreign Relations Committee met with Ban Ki-moon, Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN).
“I greatly appreciated the opportunity to engage in frank and open dialogue with Secretary Ban Ki-Moon. Today’s meeting provided an important opportunity to express my ongoing concerns regarding the treatment of Israel within the General Assembly of the UN, as well as the international order implications of Russia’s annexation of Crimea. We were also able to share views on accountability, transparency, and effectiveness issues regarding the UN. I thank Secretary Ban Ki-Moon for his time and his commitment to working with the U.S. to promote peace and stability throughout the world.”
