METH LAB IN HIGH BRIDGE man busted for the second time

Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns III, Chief of Detectives John Kuczynski, and High Bridge Borough Police Chief Brett Bartman announce the arrest of an individual as a result of a joint undercover drug investigation. Members of the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office Gangs, Guns, and Narcotics Task Force and the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office K9 Unit in conjunction with the High Bridge Borough Police Department arrested Michael Melitski, age 55, for possession of methamphetamine and certain person not to possess a firearm. On July 21, 2015, members of the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office Gangs, Guns, and Narcotics Task Force, the High Bridge Borough and Clinton Township Police Departments executed a search warrant at Melitski’s High Bridge Borough residence after developing information that he was selling methamphetamine. The executed search yielded methamphetamine, $8000.00 cash, and a semi-automatic handgun. Mr. Melitski was placed under arrest. According to Prosecutor Kearns, “I want to commend the efforts and persistence of the Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force, the High Bridge Borough and Clinton Township Police Departments as well as acknowledge the assistance provided by the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office in this investigation. This is a tribute to the perseverance of local law enforcement that will continually utilize intelligence gathering to diligently protect this county.” Bail was set at $80,000 cash by the Honorable Yolanda Ciccone, A.J.S.C. Mr. Melitski was subsequently lodged in the Hunterdon County Jail pending a first court appearance. The filing of a criminal complaint is merely a step in the criminal justice process. The defendant is presumed innocent until the matter is resolved in a court of law.
