Michael Charles McGuire 56

Michael Charles McGuire was born on August 23, 1959 in Philipsburg, New Jersey.He was the oldest son of Charles and Diane McGuire. He grew up inLong Valley, NJand graduated from West Morris High School in Chester, NJ. As an adult he movedto thePocono Mountains, PA where he lived for many years with his wife Cheryl raising their children. In the last 5 years of his life he resided in Harrisville, PA on his brother Chip’s farm where he enjoyed helping out with the animals and around the farm.

For over 30 years, Mike worked in various foundries and machine shops where he held

positions as machinists, welders, maintenance supervisors and foremen.  He loved workingand tinkering on anything he could and he was very good at fixing just about anything he set his mind on.  He had an immense love for hunting and fishing of any kind, but especially deer hunting, fly fishing and ice fishing.  If an activity involved being outdoors, it was usually something that Mike enjoyed.

Mike also loved animals but especially dogs and horses.  As a teenager, he loved workingat local stables breaking and training horses. He continued his love for horses throughout his life and although he had taken years off from riding he picked it back up when he moved out to western PA.  He always had at least one dog at home. He treated his pets as he did his children and spoiled them as much as he could.

He is survived by his parents Charles and Diane McGuire of Long Valley, NJ; a daughter, Sarah (Osbell) Gordon of Whitehall, PA; 2 sons, Michael (Desiree) McGuire of Kunkletown, PA and Kyle McGuire of Harrisville, PA; 5 grandchildren Sean, Aliyah, Peyton, Liam, and Kyron; a sister Suzanne (Frank) Lopez of Huntington Beach, CA; 3 brothers David (Diane) McGuire of Basking Ridge, NJ; Daniel (Dana) McGuire of Oxford, NJ; and Chip (Tracy) McGuire of Harrisville, PA.  Michael also leaves behind his two fur children, a dog Rocky and horse Poncho.

Mike will be missed by many and never forgotten by all who knew him. He can now be in peace and good health looking down on his legacy.

There will be a Memorial Gathering on Saturday, April 25, 2015 in the Coughlin Funeral Home, 15 Academy Street Califon, NJ 07830. Interment will follow immediately in the Germany Valley Rural Cemetery in Long Valley, NJ.
