Obituary of Michael Lavallato

Michael G. Lavallato, age 54 of Whitehouse Station, died with his loving family by his side on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Huston, TX.

Born in Manhattan, NY, he was the son of Michael J. and Gloria Lavallato. Mike grew up in the Bronx, then lived in Roselle before moving to Readington Twp. 22 years ago.

He was a graduate of Regis High School in Manhattan which is a private, completely scholarship funded, Jesuit university-preparatory school for Roman Catholic young men. He went on to earn a dual degree in Marketing and Finance from Georgetown University in Washington DC. He worked as a Managing Director for Crystal & Co. an insurance firm in NY, NY.

Mike was a very active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Whitehouse Station where he led the RCIA program for many years. These last five years were dedicated to completing the diaconate program for which he would have been ordained in May of 2017. When his girls were young, he was an enthusiastic coach for his daughters’ softball and basketball teams. Mike was a very special man who was able to find joy in every situation, no matter how difficult it might seem. He will be terribly missed and warmly remembered by all who had the honor of knowing him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Allison and his three cherished daughters, Amy of Malvern, PA and Stephanie and Kristen both at home. He is also survived by his parents, Michael and Gloria of New Rochelle, NY and his sister, Lisa Amore and her husband, Bryan of Brooklyn, NY as well as many nieces and nephews.

A funeral liturgy will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 390 County Road 523, Whitehouse Station, NJ 08889.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
