Nancy Louise (née Hall) Manhattan

Nancy Louise (née Hall) Manhattan, age 82, of Clinton, NJ passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Twp., NJ surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on May 4, 1935 in Plainfield, NJ.  She resided in Clinton, NJ since 1976, moving from North Plainfield, NJ.

She was the daughter of the late Harry and Florence George Hall.

Over the years, Nancy had a thriving career in business management.  Between the years of 1974 and 1981, she worked for Logos Christian Publishing Company in Plainfield, NJ where she was a manager.  She went on to work for Cross Publishing in Readington twp., Nj., A.M. Best in Oldwick, NJ, and most recently she was the Assistant Manager for the Mirota Senior Residence in Whitehouse Station, NJ until her retirement 3 years ago.

Nancy was an extremely diligent and hard-working woman.  She was steadfast in her work ethic with many accomplishments in her life.  Most of all, she had a special admiration for her grandchildren and loved to spend time with them.

Nancy was also very involved in her community.  She was a former member of the Presbyterian Church of both Dunellen and Clinton, NJ. As well as being a very active member of the Faith Chapel Wesleyan Church in Annandale, NJ where she was also a member of their Food Outreach Program.  Nancy enjoyed volunteering preparing meals for the food bank at her Church and she also enjoyed supporting the Open Cupboard Food Pantry in Clinton, NJ.

Nancy was an founder and avid member of the Twins Mother’s Club of the Greater Plainfield Area for 50 plus years.  She was awarded as “Twins Mother of the Year” in 1974.  Through her work at the Twins Mother’s Club, she was passionate about supporting Vietnam POW/MIA.

She is predeceased by one daughter; Diane Nancy Lopresti who passed away in 2003.  One brother; Robert Hall and one sister; Linda Baumann.

Survivors include her three daughters; Kathleen Vinglas of Stewartsville, NJ., Elaine and her husband Daniel Fuchs of Valrico, FL., Wendy and her husband Richard Theurer of Bethlehem Twp., NJ.  One son; Andrew Manhattan of Clinton, NJ. Six grandchildren; Jennifer Jones of Bushkill, PA, Diane and Donna-Lynn Fuchs of Valrico, FL, Benjamin, Jacob and Olivia Theurer of Bethlehem Twp., NJ.  Five great-grandchildren; Daniel Fuchs of Valrico, FL, Dylan, Aiden, Jaelyn and Grayson Jones of Bushkill, PA. As well as her son in-law; Muammar ‘Russ’ Lopresti of Ephrata, PA., Grandson-in law Timothy Jones of Bushkill Pa., and best friend Nancy Pierce.

Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 9am at Faith Chapel Wesleyan Church, 43 Lower Landsdown Road, Annandale, NJ.  Interment will follow at 11am at Hillside Cemetery, 1401 Woodland Avenue, Scotch Plains, NJ.  Refreshments will follow at Sherban’s Diner in South Plainfield, NJ. Arrangements by Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home in Lebanon, NJ.
