Christopher Hurban, 17, of Raritan Township has attained the rank of Eagle Scout from the Boy Scouts of America. A senior at Hunterdon Central Regional High School, Christopher is a member of Boy Scout Troop 251 in Frenchtown. He was a cub scout with Pack 194 in Flemington where he earned his Arrow of Light Award.
For his Eagle Scout project he constructed wooden donation bins for shoe collection in collaboration with the Soles4Souls organization. These bins were placed at various businesses, offices, and churches throughout Hunterdon County. Christopher gave presentations to Boy Scout Troops and Cub Scout Packs throughout the area to promote his project. He collected 2000 pairs of shoes which were distributed nationally and internationally. At the end of his project he donated the bins to the Flemington Area Food Pantry.
He is the son of Mark and Amy Hurban of Raritan Township.
