Lambertville: Nicholas L. Monteverde, 86 died Sunday at the Doylestown Hospital.
A lifelong resident of Lambertville, Nick was a member of St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church. He was a member of the Young Men’s Athletic Club and had worked as an electrician and plumber for Cioppi Contractor’s. Nick served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War.
Nick will be remembered by many because of his walks through Lambertville and spending time sitting on the benches on Bridge and Union Streets. A very kind and caring person, Nick had many health challenges over the years, but his Christian faith gave him the strength to endure.
Son of the late Louis and Rose Santilla Monteverde, he is survived by his nieces and nephews,, Linda Jesunas and her husband Bill, Dominic Nanni and his wife Lynn, Karen Monteverde, Jim Monteverde Terry Ringer and her husband Gene, Anna Dime and her husband John.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, March 30, at 11:00 am at the Garefino Funeral Home. Burial will follow with United States Marine Corps Military Honors at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 10-11 am at the funeral home.
