Nicoletta Cifrese died Friday, August 25, 2017 at Independence Manor in Raritan Township NJ. Raised in Nutley NJ, she lived for more than 50 years in Mendham Township, NJ before moving to Hunterdon County five years ago.
Born October 28, 1920 in Nutley NJ, Nicoletta was the daughter of the late Peter and Sarah (Federico) Mazziotta. She was a former longtime member of the Brookside Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, as well as the Mendham Garden Club.
Nicoletta owned and operated ‘Nikki’s Beauty Shoppe’ in Nutley and worked for NBC Studios in New York where some of her clients included the late Kate Smith and Gene Rayburn. After raising her children, she returned to the work force as a laboratory assistant at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, NJ. Upon her retirement in 1985, Nikki and her late husband Rocco enjoyed traveling to their home in Cape Coral, Florida.
An accomplished seamstress, Nikki loved to sing and spend time in her vegetable and floral gardens. Most of all, she cherished the time with her family, whom she adored.
In addition to her parents, Nicoletta was predeceased by her two brothers, Joseph and Natale Mazziotta, her sister, Josephine Bruno, and her husband, Rocco L. Cifrese in 2015. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Jennifer Cifrese of Boulder CO, her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Cifrese and Dr. Richard Geha of Stockton NJ, her three grandchildren, Frank, Danielle, and Jamie Cifrese, and her great-granddaughter, Brynleigh Rose, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial officiated by the Rev. Michael Drury, will be at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 8 West Main Street, Mendham, NJ. Burial will follow in Holy Rood Cemetery in Morristown NJ. Calling hour will be from 10:00 am until the time of service at the church.
