On Monday, March 28, at approximately 12:15 am, an officer stopped a 2004 Nissan Altima on Center Street near Route 173 because the vehicle did not display a rear license plate. During the stop, the officer learned that none of the occupants of the vehicle possessed driver’s licenses. The officer also detected the odor of marijuana inside of the vehicle. A search produced several pipes with residue and a small amount of marijuana. As a result, Edwin AldairHernandez, age 20, of Charlotte, NC was arrested and charged with Possession of Under 50 Grams of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was released ROR. Driver Denis Ricardo-Hernandes, age 20, of Charlotte, NC was issued motor vehicle summonses for Driving While Unlicensed, Driving An Unregistered Vehicle, Fictitious Plates, Obstructed View, and Failure to Produce an Insurance Card. The vehicle was towed and impounded.
