NORTH VOORHEES VOTE GOES DOWN

The North Hunterdon-Voorhees Regional High School District is seeking voter approval to undertake a school facilities renovation project at a maximum aggregate cost of not exceeding $7,324,335. Project Description: The project includes, at North Hunterdon High School, renovations to the Library to transform it into a Multi-Media Interactive Student Center for project based learning, interior and exterior renovations to the Field House, replacements of visitor/band bleachers, replacement of tennis court bleachers, and installation of a new, energy efficient HVAC unit for the social studies and world language wings; and at Voorhees High School, renovations to the Library to transform it into a Multi-Media Interactive Student Center for project based learning, installation of a new artificial turf field to replace the existing grass field, replacement of visitor bleachers, and addition of ADA compliant ramp to home bleachers. Awarded State Aid for the Project: The State of New Jersey has awarded State aid for the project in the form of 23.64% annual State debt service aid (principal and interest) on the School District bonds issued to fund the Project. This State aid reduces the taxpayers’ share of the annual bond debt service (principal and interest) to 76.36%. Such State aid will only be available if the referendum passes
