A graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA), she began her career as a visual artist and moved into performance, writing, and the puppetry arts. PAFA awarded her a Henry J Scheidt Traveling Scholarship which took her abroad for 10 weeks to Europe and Mexico. Her paintings and monoprints have won many awards and have been represented in fine galleries in Philadelphia, Stamford, Washington, DC and Santa Fe, and are in collections private, corporate, and public all over the world. She worked with Clarence Wood and Don Kaiser, the first team of mural artists at the Philadelphia Museum of Art Community Programs Department in the 80’s, designing and creating murals in Philadelphia and its suburbs.
She studied creative writing with author Jennifer Owings Dewey and was a member of the Listening Voice Improv Storytelling group in Santa Fe for 10 years. She’s the author of The Magical Mrs. Iptweet and Me, a novel for middle-grade readers (Azro Press Spring 2009) which has won several industry awards. Born and raised in Philadelphia, she lived and worked in northern New Mexico for 21 years. A SAG-AFTRA actress, she has extensive training in voice, movement, improv comedy, and acting for the camera and stage. She is currently based in Penn Valley, 8 miles from the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia.
