ON THE HC BORDER OVER IN SOMERSET MAN ARRESTED WITH 8lbs of HEROIN AND MARIJUANA – jumps from third floor roof to escape

ActingSomerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson, acting Chief of County Detectives Timothy M. Fitzgerald, and Franklin Township Chief of Police Lawrence Robertsannounces the arrest of Luis Carreon, age 27, of Park Street, in the Somerset section of Franklin Township, New Jersey.

 

Acting Prosecutor Robertson states that on May 4, 2016, at approximately 9:00 p.m., detectives assigned to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Organized Crime and Narcotics Task Force and the Franklin Township Police Department executed a Superior Court Search Warrant on defendant Carreon’s Park Street residence. Shortly after detectives made entry defendant Carreon attempted to elude apprehension by jumping from a third story roof of the dwelling. Defendant Carreon was subsequently apprehended.

 

A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of 1,064 folds of heroin, a plastic bag containing approximately eight (8) pounds of heroin, eight (8) marijuana plants, and $1,570.00 in U.S. Currency.

 

Defendant Carreon was charged with Maintaining a CDS Production Facility, 1st Degree, Possession with the Intent to Distribute CDS (Heroin), 1st Degree, Possession with the Intent to Distribute CDS (Marijuana) 3rd Degree, Resisting Arrest by Flight, 4th Degree and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Disorderly Persons Offense.

 

The seized heroin has an approximate street value of $410,640, and the seized marijuana plants have an approximate street value of $24,000.00.

 

Defendant Luis Carreon was lodged in the Somerset County Jail.
