On Saturday, March 5, at approximately 4:55 pm, an officer stopped a 1994 Saturn SW2 operated by Tyler Panella, age 21, of Washington, on Route 31 North near Halstead Street because the vehicle displayed an expired inspection and because a computer inquiry revealed that the registered owner’s driver’s license was expired. During the stop, the officer detected the odor of marijuana inside of the vehicle and soon discovered Mr. Panella to be in possession of a bag of it. Mr. Panella was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was charged with Possession of Under 50 Grams of Marijuana, Operating a Motor Vehicle While In Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Driving With An Expired License, Failure to Inspect, and Failure to Change Address on Driver’s License. He was released ROR.
